“Enlargement Georgia” at the Institute for European Studies of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State
University
On 12 March 2025 the roundtable discussion was organised at the Institute for European Studies of
Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, as part of the European Union Erasmus Plus Jean Monnet
Module “Enlargement Georgia.” The keynote speaker was Benedikt Christoph Harzl, Associate
Professor at the University of Graz.
The topic for discussion was: Austria’s neutrality amidst the Russian invasion of Ukraine:
Perspectives in International and EU Law. Implications on the EU Enlargement. The event was
moderated by Nino Lapiashvili, Director of the Institute for European Studies at Ivane Javakhishvili
Tbilisi State University and the Jean Monnet Holder Academic.
Following the keynote speaker’s presentation, a lively discussion took place engaging academic
staff, students, graduates and invited guests interested in EU affairs.
