I Workshop

Summary

On 12th of June, 2021 the Institute for European Studies (IES) of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) hosted the first Online Jean Monnet Workshop within the frames of the EU funded ERASMUS+ Jean Monnet Project “Establishing Interdisciplinary Bachelor’s Programme in European Studies at Tbilisi State University.” Among the participants were IES administration and the academic personnel of the institute, students, the representatives of the Dean office of the TSU Faculty of Law as well as the TSU Quality Assurance Service and the stakeholders from business and the Government of Georgia including the line Ministries and the Parliament. 

The workshop consisted of three main sessions. During the first session the Director of the Institute for European Studies and the Coordinator of the Jean Monnet Project Nino LAPIASHVILI presented the project officially, which was followed by the brief intervention by the stakeholders – Ms. Tamar Kochoradze - Head of Department in the State Ministry on Reconciliation and Civic Equality, Ms. Irine Chkhenkeli - Sector Economy and Economic Policy Committee Staff Member of the Parliament of Georgia, Ms. Khatia Bukhrashvili - Secretary General of the International Chamber of Commerce Georgia and H.E. Archil Karaulashvili - Ambassador of Georgia to the Republic of Estonia.

The second and the third sessions of the workshop were fully devoted to the discussions on the quality assurance issues and the presentation of the first draft undergraduate programme curriculum as well as the syllabi together with the academic personnel of the IES and representatives of the TSU quality assurance offices.
