The IES/TSU hosted the Second Workshop of the EU funded ERASMUS+ Jean Monnet Project “Establishment of the Bachelor’s Programme in European Studies” (EUStBA)

On 16th and 17th of July, 2021 the Institute for European Studies (IES) of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) organized the second online workshop within the frames of the EU funded ERASMUS+ Jean Monnet Project “Establishing Interdisciplinary Bachelor’s Programme in European Studies at Tbilisi State University”. The meeting was fully devoted to the new accreditation standards and the thematic discussions contributed by the administrative and academic staff of the IES, the representatives of the Quality Assurance Services of the TSU Faculties and the Central Quality Assurance Offices as well as the stakeholders from the business and the Parliament of Georgia.

We are extremely delighted to share with our community that on 24th and 25th of June the Institute for European Studies (IES) of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) was honored to host its first two-day Jean Monnet international conference on the topic  “Teaching, Learning and Researching the European Union in Theory and Practice”. The virtual event was held with special dedication to the celebrations of Europe Day and 7 years of the EU-Georgia Association Agreement.

On 12th of June, 2021 the Institute for European Studies (IES) of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) hosted the first Online Jean Monnet Workshop within the frames of the EU funded ERASMUS+ Jean Monnet Project “Establishing Interdisciplinary Bachelor’s Programme in European Studies at Tbilisi State University.” Among the participants were IES administration and the academic personnel of the institute, students, the representatives of the Dean office of the TSU Faculty of Law as well as the TSU Quality Assurance Service and the stakeholders from business and the Government of Georgia including the line Ministries and the Parliament. 
 
Meeting with the Co-Chairs of the Geneva International Discussions

On 7th of June, 2021 our European Studies Masterʹs programme students had an opportunity to meet and discuss the problems related to the Russian occupation of the Abkhazia and Tskhinvali/South Ossetia regions with the Co-Chairs of the Geneva International Discussions  Mr. Toivo Klaar, the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia,  Ms.  Cihan Sultanoğlu, the UN Representative to the GID,  Ambassador Annika Söder, Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for the South Caucasus.

The Konrad Adenauer Foundation scholarship winners for the interdisciplinary Masterʹs programme in European Studies had been revealed

We are happy to announce that the Konrad Adenauer Foundation selected 10 winners of the scholarship scheme established for the English-taught interdisciplinary Masterʹs programme in European Studies of TSU. Five citizens of Georgia and five international applicants from other countries of the Eastern Partnership region will receive the full tuition waiver as well as the living costs during the first two semesters of their studies. The prolongation of the scholarship scheme for the third and the final fourth semesters is merit-based and will depend on the excellence of the admitted students.
